My name is Suzanne Woods and I am very excited, nervous and a little bit crazy for starting on this path. After sixteen years with the same employer, I have decided to change careers and complete a degree in computer programming. This ePortfolio will take you through my crazy journey.

I have had a passion for helping others since I was a child. In high school, I volunteered as an assistant in the special education classes. I worked in special education camps in the summer and I loved every minute that I was able to spend helping and teaching.

When I entered into the corporate world, my love of learning and helping others easily translated into a corporate training position where I have the opportunity to introduce new hires to our business and ensure they have every resource to be successful. I am able to work with our leaders to develop an attitude of servant leadership ensuring our employees have an ideal work environment that fosters their strengths and invests in their growth.

After sixteen years, I feel I have to look outside my organization to learn and experience new things so that I have more to teach in the years to come. I have a very analytical mind and love of problem-solving. Computer coding has been a hobby of mine for years so it was only natural that I pursue more knowledge about the topic. My goal is to someday have enough experience and knowledge to share with others.

My general education work here at Salt Lake Community College has helped with advancing my knowledge of quantitative literacy, communication, critical thinking, and creativity. It has empowered me to take the information from my coursework and translate it into real-world use at work and home. I hope you enjoy looking through my projects and are able to take away a little of what I have learned.
